Evelyn Garcia is a New York native who received her Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education, where she learned how to design and implement programs to promote health and prevent disease. Her passion for implementing individual change and love for anatomy and physiology led her to pursue her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from New York Medical College. Upon graduating, she was the sole recipient of the 2009 Award for Clinical Excellence. Her clinical experience includes the acute care setting, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation and the Department of Education, working with a diverse spectrum of patients including but not limited to cardiac arrhythmias, Parkinsons, Joint replacements, Cerebral Palsy and other post operative conditions including ligament and tendon repairs. In addition to therapeutic exercise, Evelyn strongly believes in integrating manual techniques including myofascial release, muscle energy techniques, acupressure, and joint mobilization to improve flexibility, range of motion and decrease pain. She is fluent in both English and Spanish . Outside of work, Evelyn loves spending time with her friends and family, including her husband and young daughter, traveling and dancing. An avid sports enthusiast, she closely follows professional sports including baseball, basketball, football and boxing. She is first aid/CPR certified and continues to supplement her university education with continuing education courses.
