This place horrible they called me 3 days ago to reschedule my appointment I told him I was waiting 2 weeks already they said okay come on then when I got there they said the dr. Just called and wasn't available they lied to me when I finally do get in they tell me I'm not covered

I wanna give this place zero stars. I've been going here for quite a while and have always hated it. Thought I would just stick with them because I didn't wanna go through the hassle of finding a new dentist. They always try to sell you products that you don't need. I never have the same dentist whenever I go. I had braces in middle school (which they should have known if they checked my records) and they were trying to tell me that I needed braces. They have been telling me I have inflammation around my gums for the past 5 years and need a 'special rinse.' So I finally got the rinse to shut them up but they failed to tell me my insurance does not cover the rinse. All they care about is taking your money. And today was the last straw. They are such rude idiots. The receptionist told me that my insurance, which I have had the same one for the past 3 years at least, wasn't processing and that I didn't exist on the insurance plan. I called the insurance company myself and they told me that I was indeed on my own plan and that they didn't receive any calls today regarding it. If the people at Smile Care Modesto can't even contact the correct insurance company (the phone number is printed clearly on my insurance card) then I no longer trust them taking care of my teeth. I am looking for a new dentist as of today.

In spite of warnings not to go to Smilecare, I went there to see the endodontic specialist, she was the only one contracted by my insurance in the area.

After a nearly 3 hour wait I was finally brought to the back and sat in the uncomfortble dentist chair. When I asked how much longer it would be, they said, "Oh, maybe an hour or so, there are 2 more patients ahead of you." I had to pick up my children and couldn't wait that long. I was naturally upset, but the staff acted as if a 4 hour wait was reasonable and normal. They refused to take responsibility for overscheduling (the one specialist was scheduled for 13-14 root canals that day) and did not offer a sincere apology. At no point did they volunteer the information that the provider was running very behind, offer to reschedule, or really in any way show they had any respect for me or my time. They would have cheerfully left me there all day if I had not spoken up. During the interminable time in the waiting room I heard just about everyone complain about the wait, but for the recurring patients it seemed like they expected it. Apparently long waits are normal there.

I now understand why several people in the local dental community warned me not to go there. After 3 hours, rude employees, dismissive manager, I had to walk back out with my toothache.
