Dr Ward has been our family pet's vet since 1992. He and his staff provide excellent care of our pets, from annual shots, to toe nail trims, to boarding, grooming and helping us let them go when it is time. I did try another vet for a very short period of time to compare fees (pets are more $$ than kids!), but very quickly returned to Allisonville Animal Hospital. You cannot put a price tag on the amount of personal care, empathy and devotion they show to your pets.

Allisonville Animal Hospital was established in 1957 by Dr. Everett Fleming (OSU '55) at 8238 Allisonville Road. It was named for the village of Allisonville, which was located at what is now the intersection of 82nd Street and Allisonville Road (or old SR 37). Dr. Fleming and his wife, Carole started their family and lived there for several years while practicing a mixed, predominately small animal practice. The large animal portion of the practice was discontinued in the late 1960s. Indianapolis continued to grow and with the development of Castleton Square Mall in the 1970s, the village of Allisonville faded, but the practice continued to grow. Dr. James Ward was hired as an associate in 1976, and eventually bought the practice upon Dr. Fleming's retirement in 1989. The practice and Dr. Ward owe a great debt to Dr. Fleming for the solid foundation he established, and for the great depth of knowledge he shared. In August of 2000, Allisonville Animal Hospital said goodbye to their old location and moved to a modern, spacious facility at 10173 Allisonville Road. Allisonville Animal Hospital offers a full range of veterinary services for dogs and cats, including: * Wellness Exams * Vaccinations * Hospitalization * Surgery Using Pulse Oximetry And Isoflurane & Sevoflurane Anesthetic Gases * Dentistry * Radiology * Ultrasound * In-House Blood Analyzer * Boarding * Grooming * Behavioral Consultation * Adoption * Referrals To Specialists
